Here is a yummy recipe that is Low Calorie! If you already made the applesauce I posted then you are half way there!
Applesauce Spice Cake – 250cal per serving, About 9 servings per pan Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup chilled applesauce
- 1tsp vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- You can also use 1/2tsp of Pumpkin Pie or Apple Pie Spice. For more “spice” add 1/4tsp ground or fresh ginger
- Cream room temperature butter or margarine with the sugar. Add the applesauce & mix well. Batter will be thick and this is a NO egg recipe. Stir in flour, baking soda, and spices.
- Pour the batter into a greased/floured 8 x 8 square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes, or until done. Serve warm with a dusting of powdered sugar.
Things to note* This is a no egg recipe, cake is not as dense as it seems it may be The batter will be thick, spread evenly in the pan If you have extra applesauce , you can put small dabs of it here and there on the top before cooking for added flavor. See pics Mine took 60mins not 40 to cook
